Relay for Life with AIAS

AIAS is participating in this years Relay for Life on April 20th.You don't have to be part of AIAS to be on the team! If you would like to participate or even donate, sign up online by following these steps:
-Go to www.relayforlife.org
-Search for Fargo, ND then click on NDSU's relay link
-Hit "Sign Up" on the right side banner
-Type in American Institute of Architecture Students under team name and click our link
-Select "Join our team" and fill out the form
*Note: signing up for the relay does cost $10 but remember what your money is going to and why we are participating to begin with.*

After signing up online...you should pick a team for our head to head battle! Team Pritz-Cure (lead by Danielle Cremer) vs. Team Mass-A-Cure (lead by me) With these teams we will be challenged to see who can raise the most money for Relay for Life. (In the end, we will donate all funds as team AIAS) However, to evoke some friendly competition, there will be embarrassing consequences for the captain of the losing team; either Danielle or myself will be following through with these consequences the night of the relay. The Big Event is the largest, one-day, student-run service project in the nation where students of NDSU come together to say "Thank You" to the residents of Fargo, Moorhead, and West Fargo. This is our third annual event where students have participated to show their appreciation to the surrounding community by completing service projects such as yard work, window washing, and painting for community members. Although The Big Event has become the largest one-day, student-run service project in the nation, our message and our mission remains the same – to simply say “Thank You.”

LEAD: Leadership, Education and Direction Lecture

On April 5th from Noon-1:30 in the MU Ballroom, the Congress of Student Organizations will be hosting Erv Inniger to come and speak. Erv was the former NDSU Associate Athletic Director and now works for Choice Financial and has evolved into a motivational speaker. He will be speaking on “Attitudes in Determining Success” and this event will be A STATUS BOOSTER opportunity. This is an OPTIONAL event but it will raise your status if you attend. Bison Leader Awards And State of the Student Address

On Monday April 30th the Student Government will be giving their State of the Student Address speech alongside of the Congress of Student Organizations who will be recognizing the Bison Leader Award recipients.
*BLA nominations will open TOMORROW 3/23 at 5pm and will be open until Sunday April 22nd at 5pm. The categories are:
Student Leader of the Year
Student Organization Advisor of the Year
Student Organization of the Year
Community Service Program of the Year (example: Kappa Delta’s Shamrock Week)
Cultural/Diversity Program of the Year (example: Take Back the Night, Diwali Night)
Social Program of the Year (example: Campus Attractions Midnight Breakfast)
Overall Program of the Year

How to nominate: Log into OrgSync, on the left hand side of the Community Home Page under ‘CSO’ click the fourth icon in that looks like a pen and paper, and click “Bison Leader Award Nomination”. There is one form that covers all 7 awards. Please nominate as many different people and groups as you please in the same or multiple categories. This is a huge opportunity to show what your organization has done and is a University wide honor.
